Director's Statement Marco has the face of those teenagers that are quietly falling apart, left behind by a world that seems to be moving on without them, by a society that would rather not see their suffering or vulnerability—and in which any hint of addiction is quickly swept under the rug with superficial labels and comforting prayers. I was Marco. Cinema was my path to redemption, and the time had come for me to pick up a camera and try to capture the profound sense of loneliness that marked my youth and, hopefully, the moment I decided not to die, although I still had no idea how to live.
