A nuclear power plant worker obsessed with counting has set a maximum limit on how much electricity he wants to consume. The energy that should have lasted him for the rest of his life is slowly running out, forcing him to decide on its final use. 3 MWh is a film poem about degrowth and shows what it would look like if man stopped putting themselves at the centre of nature. 16mm analogue footage digitally damaged by recorded electrical discharges based on the protagonist's voice demonstrates the relationship between man and material reality.

Director's Statement I was born in 1994. I grew up in a world with a vision of endless growth, economic prosperity and a high standard of living. Now, in 2023, we face many crises at once. We are surrounded by them. Fear, grief and helplessness paralyze me. Often to the point that I cannot see hope. The advice for compulsively returning fear is to look its reason in the eye, to think it through in context, thoroughly, to the end. Our film is a loving acceptance of the fact that we are not just our bodies, but we are energy. And energy cannot be created nor destroyed, it can only be transformed from one form to another or transferred from one system to another. I believe the end doesn't mean death, but just an exchange of energy.
