Director's Statement Some use sweet childhood memories to overcome the hurdles in life, but some have to wield the rest of their life to heal the scars from childhood. The story is inspired by actual events that happened in my youth and continue to occur to young girls today. Beyond analyzing the systemic oppression women face within society from the intimate lens of a 12-year-old's eye, I hope to present this film as an emotional remedy for many adults who still have that secret brokenhearted child living within them.
